From the week beginning Monday 3rd June 2019 pupils at Highfield J&I School will be celebrating ‘The Arts’ in a variety of activities based around Art.
In Year 4 we have decided that, as this week will coincide with Eid, we will be studying Mehndi. We will look at the history behind it, the different patterns that can be drawn and practice drawing some ourselves.
The pupils will take part in lots of different designing activities including using Henna to design their own Mehndi candles. During this activity the pupils will wear gloves and no Henna will come into contact with the pupils skin.
There is no cost for this activity however we do need your consent for your child to take part. Could you please complete the consent form so that your child can take part in this task. Could you also please detail and allergies below and inform the class teacher if your child has had any previous reaction to Henna or any similar products
The consent forms must be returned to school by Friday 24th of May 2019. Please return the reply slip to the class teacher.
I understand that while the school staff in charge of the party will take all reasonable care of the children, they cannot necessarily be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury suffered by your child arising during this activity.
The school is insured against its Legal Liability to pay compensation should it be held responsible for causing an injury to your child whilst in the care of staff. The school has not arranged any additional insurance in respect of the visit e.g. personal accident. Should you be concerned about this area of risk you are advised to speak to your child’s class teacher to make alternative arrangements.
If you have any concerns please speak to your child’s teacher.
