World Cup

Dear Parents/Carers,

Today we held an ‘Opening Ceremony’ for the World Cup in school.

Each class has been assigned a country to support and represent throughout the competition.

From the week beginning 25thJune until Monday 16thJuly, pupils will be learning all about their country and the World Cup competition across the curriculum. Literacy, Numeracy, Learning for Life and PE lessons will all link to this project.

We will look for similarities between the culture and traditions of these countries and ours as part of our ‘Community Cohesion’ learning.

On Monday 16thJuly, we will be holding a whole-school ‘Closing Ceremony’ to celebrate all that we have discovered about the many countries involved in this competition. There will also be rewards and prizes for the class who were assigned the winning team and those who have embraced the project the most too!

We look forward to uniting together and celebrating this world-famous tournament.
