Mr. Knibbs and Mrs. Davies have re-arranged the coffee morning for Friday 16th March 2018 at 9.00 a.m. in the Infant Hall. Miss Magee the Pastoral Leader of the trust will also be there.
This is an opportunity for parents to come in and talk about school, what is going well and what more, if anything, would you like for your children.
Come and have a chat over a drink and a biscuit. Your views are important to us.
We look forward to seeing you there.

It is World Maths Day on Monday 12th March and children will be doing Maths activities for the day. To make this a memorable experience we would like children to dress up as Rockstars – they can use their Times Table Rockstar avtar as a source of inspiration for their outfit. Alternatively, children can dress with a number themed outfit.
World Maths Day for Year 6 will be on Tuesday 13th March.
Thank you for your continued support.

People in Birmingham are being encouraged to check that they, their children and teenagers have had two doses of MMR vaccine following confirmation of cases of measles within the city.
Public Health England (PHE) West Midlands is working with Birmingham City Council and local NHS partners to make sure that anyone in the city who needs an MMR vaccination is aware, following confirmed cases of measles in children in Birmingham. Most of the recent cases had not received the required two doses of MMR vaccine.
If children and young adults have missed these vaccinations in the past, it’s important to take up the vaccine now from GPs, particularly in light of the recent cases in Birmingham.
Parents should check their child’s Red Book to see if they’ve received MMR vaccinations as scheduled, or check with their GP surgery if they are unsure.
Measles symptoms to be aware of include:
- high fever
- sore, red, watery eyes
- aching and feeling generally unwell
- a blotchy red brown rash, which usually appears after the initial symptoms.
We are delighted to announce that Highfield Junior and Infant School have been awarded the Silver School Games Mark Award. This is an exceptional achievement for Highfield School and is testament to the continued hard work from the department. We look forward to welcoming a new academic year where we will continue to prioritise providing these opportunities for our children.
This academic year 184 of our key stage two children have been engaged in weekly out of school hours learning. We have provided 440 places for children in 62 sporting competitions and had 129 children officiating and leading sporting events.
The School Games Mark Award has been running since 2012 and recognises schools for their commitment to school sport. The criteria to be awarded the Mark include providing children with 2 hours P.E per week, engaging pupils in competitive school sport and providing extra-curricular opportunities. With a large intake of pupils across our Trust the threshold to meet the criteria is exceptionally challenging.

Dear Parents/ Carers,
On Tuesday 4th July, Year 5 are having a North America WOW day. As part of the day, we are holding an awards ceremony. The children have been asked to prepare a song, dance or joke for the competition and the winners will receive a trophy. For the ceremony, we would like the children to wear their best clothes that are red, white or blue.
We are also having a picnic to celebrate American Independence Day. The children can bring in snacks and food that is packaged and has ingredients listed on it, as well as a towel or blanket to sit on outside.
For health and safety reasons, please do not send your child into school with nuts or home cooked food.
We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic performances and outfits!
Thank you for your continued support.
