Year 6 Workshops

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are writing to invite you to a parent workshop focusing on Maths. This workshop will take place on

Wednesday 25th January and Wednesday 8th February at 9:00am and will last approximately 60 minutes.

Please come to into school with your child, where a member of staff will direct you to where you need to go.

This workshop is an opportunity for you to develop and understand techniques and skills we use in the classroom, to allow you to support your child’s learning, at home.

Please make every effort to attend as parental support is vital to enhance each and every child’s progress.

Please note, to keep our children safe, we ask that parents do not use their mobile phones on school premises.

We look forward to working with you.

How to know when your child is a competent swimmer

Water competency is often misinterpreted by parents and guardians as their child being able to jump into a swimming pool and being able to put their face in the water. The reality is very different.

Learning to jump into a swimming pool is an important safety skill that children often achieve in the early stages of their learning to swim journey, as it is one of the outcomes in our Pre-School Framework

We express our deepest sympathies to The Royal Family and to our nation.

Eid Class Party - 04/05/2022

On Wednesday 4th May, the children will be having parties in their classrooms to celebrate Eid. Pupils are invited to come dressed in their Eid/party clothes. Please ensure appropriate footwear is worn (i.e. no ‘wheelies’ or high heels).

The children can bring food in with them for their celebrations. Due to Natasha’s Law, please ensure that the food is shop bought, in its original packaging and has a full ingredients list visible. This is to support our children across school who have allergies.

We look forward to sharing the celebration of Eid across the school and providing the children with an opportunity to celebrate together with staff and children alike.

I am sure you will join us in encouraging your child to take part and enjoy their day!

School Opening 29/11/2021

Please be aware that school is open to all staff and pupils on Monday 29th November 2021.

Key members of staff will be on site early in the morning to ensure that the site is safe for pupils to enter. For Monday 29th of November only, all pupils will need to come in to school via the Harts Road entrance. I appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience but in order for us to have the time to clear a safe route into the building, we can only work on one entrance to the school site in readiness for pupils arriving.

Please take extra care when travelling to and from school and when walking around the school site.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Proposed Admissions Arrangements for 2023/24

Dear Parents,

We are writing to inform you that we are proposing a reduction in the published admission number (PAN) for our school. We have been working with Birmingham City Council to plan for the future, specifically looking at the falling pupil numbers across the city due to a fall in birth rates.

It is proposed that the published admission number relating to the admission of children into Reception from September 2023 onwards be reduced to 90. The present published admission number is set at 120.

A copy of our proposed admission arrangements for 2023/2024 are available on our school website and by visiting:
https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20119/school_admissions/1063/determined_admissions_arrangements_2022/3

To express your views as part of this consultation, please visit the Birmingham BeHeard website:

Any comments received will be considered by the Trust Board during the Spring Term of 2022. The Trust Board will give full consideration to your comments before making its final decision on this proposal.
